Abstract
When Korean women married American Soldiers in Korea, they dreamed of happy lives in America. Interracial marriage Korean women got lost from normal community and suddenly they slipped into the third class without financial support, regular job, housing, and even food but with a language barrier cultural shock and fear for the future. It brought psychological damage. At the second stage of their life, they left home and came to cities where their friends live. More then two third of them are working in the massage parlor. They start to drink and take substances to get high and forget their life in past. At the third stage of their life that is last step, some of them loose jobs and wander among homeless shelters. Then, some of them are sent to mental hospitals. No one knows how many Korean 'Women are in. It is the situation of alienation from Shalom in "a foreign land" as well as "new home." This project was developed within the Embury and the Korean Immigrant Community in New York City Area. The design of this project includes elements of existing programs, but the final shape of the project will be designed specially for Korean American families in New York City Area. The project may become a sample for Transforming Praxis from the alienated and marginal into the life of shalom beyond the Korean-American families and New York City Area.
